About this Chic Retreat
Quinta Bonita Boutique Hotel is a small luxury hotel on the Matos Morenos hillside. With a long history of hospitality, this chic retreat has had a stylish makeover and its doors are once again open to the discerning traveller. This stunning boutique hotel offers panoramic ocean views with the beautiful beaches of Lagos and Luz just 5 minutes' drive away. Set in 10,000 sqm of spectacular gardens it features a large heated outdoor swimming pool, fountains, ponds, cobbled pathways, an orchard and even a giant chess set! The stylish interiors combine traditional charm with modern luxuries and there is a choice of 8 spacious suites, each with their own private terrace or balcony.
Chantelle and Fraser host this family-run chic retreat, with Fraser the expert on all things active and Chantelle the queen of relaxation, offering great ideas to suit every taste. In keeping with the idyllic surroundings, Quinta Bonita maintains an eco-friendly approach, with herbs and fruit from the estate, water from their own borehole, solar-heated hot water, a filtered water system and recycling facilities for guests.
Accommodation
Quinta Bonita has 8 spacious en-suite rooms, each individually styled. Decorated with a mix of traditional style and modern luxuries, rooms are warm and inviting, and all rooms have their own private terrace or balcony. Beds are either king-size, queens-size or twins and are fitted with Egyptian cotton linens, fluffy duvets and a choice of pillows. In addition, each room has a fully-stocked mini-bar, air-conditioning and reverse-cycle heating, flat screen Satellite TV & DVD player, complimentary WiFi, luxurious bath products, filtered water and tea & coffee making facilities. The en-suite bathrooms are a good size, decorated in granite with under-floor heating and either showers or showers & baths, and the Master Suite has a spa bath. Luxury towels & bathrobes are provided and can be warmed on the heated towel rails. Children over the age of 12 are welcome.
Activities
The stunning beaches of Luz and Lagos are just a few minutes' drive from Quinta Bonita. The port of Lagos is a lovely place for a day out, with its ancient castle walls, narrow, cobbled streets and pottery shops. For those who want to travel a little further, visit the medieval castle town of Silves, Cape St. Vincent and the hills of Monchique. There are some fabulous golf courses the closest being Boavista Golf Resort directly opposite. Watersports are in abundance, with scuba diving, surfing, big game fishing and dolphin swimming & watching among the activities on offer. The natural surroundings are also great for walking, cycling, horse riding and hang-gliding. For relaxation back at Quinta Bonita, spend the day by the heated outdoor pool with a drink from the honesty bar and unwind with an in-room massage or spa treatment. For those who want the full spa experience, The Essential Spa at Boa Vista is just across the road.
Dining
This eco-friendly chic retreat sources all of its food from the local community wherever possible, with fresh bread and eggs from their near neighbours and wines from local wineries. Guests can enjoy a full buffet breakfast with fruit from the Quinta Bonita orchard and organic local produce and complimentary afternoon tea is served every day out on the terraces. Light lunches such as Caesar salad, club sandwiches, quiche and salad are also served with a few choices per day and there are many restaurants within a 5-minute drive. With the environment always in mind, the vegetable and fruit waste is all made into compost to feed the gardens.
Rates
Rates at Quinta Bonita Boutique Hotel are per room per night and include taxes, service, a full buffet breakfast and afternoon tea. Children over 12 only accepted. For single occupancy, there is a EUR 25 reduction on the room rate.
