About this Chic Retreat

The Olde Bell is a luxury modern coaching inn, a great alternative to a traditional boutique hotel.  Situated in Hurley, just 45 minutes from London, and close to Henley on Thames, this timber-framed building is the perfect place for gathering friends together, eating good food, enjoying authentic ales and a great night sleep.  Parts of this Chic Retreat date back to 1135 full of nooks, crannies and crooked floors offering traditional hospitality in an environment which is full of warmth and cheer.  Ideal for private parties and celebrations.

Accommodation

The Olde Bell has a village feel to it with 5 separate buildings with bedrooms and 5 types of rooms ranging from bolthole to larger. All of the bedrooms have complimentary WiFi. Based on the traditions of the original inn, the rooms at The Olde Bell provide guests with the essential creature comforts including blissfully comfortable mattresses, pure cotton bed linen and Jakob's wool blankets. Bolthole rooms feature rainforest showers and the larger rooms in the Main Inn and Malt House have enormous beds with roll top baths in the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms with rainforest showers.  The Large rooms in the Brick Barn have enormous beds and separate bathrooms and are perfect for families sharing. 

Activities

To do, or not to do that is the question! Anyone for tennis? If so you can enjoy a game on the court in the walled garden.  Garden lovers will enjoy the 6 acres of herbaceous borders, wild meadows and kitchen garden.  Choose from a list of pampering treatments or charter a boat and take a trip down the river stopping off for a picnic on the way.

Dining

Warren Geraghty is in charge of the kitchen and he always favours locally grown, seasonal produce served up with a splashing of generosity of spirit in both flavour and portions. Those with a good appetite won't go hungry!  Based around eating and drinking, The Olde Bell has the perfect outbuildings for all types of celebrations, large or small from private dinners for 8 to larger dining parties up to 120.
