About this Chic Retreat
This stunning luxury hotel is located in possibly the best position in Florence. Palazzo Vecchietti in Florence's glamourous via degli Strozzi is a 15th-century palace which is the newest of the Town House luxury apartment hotels, the other two based in Milan and Turin. Refined decoration & luxurious furnishings give this ancient palace all the grand charm on the interior as the historical building itself, covered as it is with beautiful wall sculptures. Exposed brick work, original artwork, tapestries, marble fireplaces and a contemporary take on traditional elegance will leave guests truly in the lap of luxury. Right in the heart of the city, this palatial hotel is a great place from which to explore Florence, its museums, shops and galleries.
Accommodation
All of Palazzo's 7 rooms, 5 suites and 2 apartments are spacious and refined in character, and are named after famous Italians. Rooms are decorated with beautiful life drawings, sculptures, large mirrors, sink-into sofas in rich colours, giving a homely feel. Blonde wood floors are covered with contemporary striped rugs in maroons and light lilacs, sitting nicely against the light walls. The design is simple & clean and extremely comfortable.
The high-ceilinged Superior rooms are the smallest at 40 sq metres and have a comfortable lounge area, dining table and a compact hideaway kitchen. The Deluxe suites are larger, between 40-54 sq meteres with large windows allowing light to pour in to the charming living areas. The Junior Suites are larger still and have a bedroom and lounge area with a double sofa bed and some also have 2 bathrooms. Suites with two bathrooms also have the luxury addition of a Turkish bath, and some Suites have their own private terraces overlooking the rooftops of Florence.
The 2 apartments are 92 and 100 sq metres respectively. They have spacious living areas, and the Leonardo da Vinci apartment has 2 living rooms with roof skylights, 2 bathrooms, one with a Turkish bath, and an array of seating areas from sofas & armchairs to the dining table in the kitchen. With an added butler service, guests will have everything they need for a relaxing city stay. All rooms come with air-conditioning, satellite and pay TV, mini-bar, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machine, and a hideaway kitchen or kitchenette with refrigerator, dishwasher, electric ceramic-glass hob and ventilator.
Activities
Right in the centre of Florence, the artistic city where the Renaissance began, Palazzo Vecchietti is the perfect place from which to embark on an exploration of the city's narrow streets. Visit Florence cathedral with Brunelleschi's spectacular dome, and take a look at Donatello's David in the Bargello Museum. The Galleria degli Uffizi houses many of Italy's greatest works of art, including works by Da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Some guests may choose to take advantage of the Butler service who is happy to plan events, advise and book the best restaurants in town and book tickets for concerts and museums, ensuring a seamless stay in Florence.
For those who want to practice their swing, there is a golf club nearby and the hotel is set on the fashionable shopping street, via degli Strozzi where the biggest names in fashion have boutiques and Ferrari has a brand new store. For a bit of relaxation back at the hotel, the spacious lounge areas, surrounded by sculptures, marble and artwork are the perfect place to take a drink or read, and there is a small library to brush up on art and architecture before returning to the bustling streets.
Dining
Every room in Palazzo Vecchietti has a small kitchen, and although they do not have an in-house restaurant, they serve breakfast and light meals which can be ordered from room service. Special events can be catered for. Situated in the centre of florence, there are plenty of restaurants in the area from trattoria to ristorante.
Rates
Rates at Palazzo Vecchietti are per room per night. Rates include a full American breakfast, welcome drink, tea and Nespresso coffee facilities in the room, favourite newspaper, WiFi , butler service and taxes (10% Vat). In junior suites, suites and apartments a complimentary minibar and transfer service from Florence train station & airport are also included. Children are charged at an extra EUR 70 per day and baby cots are free.
