About this Chic Retreat
Silence, laughter, spectacular views, delicious food and a wonderful setting! This is what Can Rigall is all about. This eco-friendly boutique hotel is situated in the Pyrenees in the south of France and has been beautifully restored to its former glory. Sitting high up on an alpine meadow over 800 metres above sea-level, the coast and beaches are only an hour away. With a maximum of 24 guests at any one time, this secluded Chic Retreat is a very special, secret place, steeped in history. Can Rigall's ethos of sustainable tourism is adding to the warm feeling and exclusive experience at all of their destinations. They have won numerous prestigious tourism awards in recent years, and combine luxury and comfort with their vision to become a show piece within responsible tourism. Firmly focused on the future, the Can Rigall estate sources 70% of its energy from renewable sources, combining solar panels, biodiesel and a wind mill. Can Rigall has the largest private owned solar park in Languedoc-Roussillon.
Accommodation
Each of the 11 rooms and suites at Can Rigall have been given a name and a story partly linked to the original use of the rooms, partly linked to the fascinating regional history. They all have their own bathroom and are stylishly decorated and furnished with sumptuous beds where there is no doubt you will have one of your best night's sleep. Local and traditional materials including wood and stone have been used to reflect the original use and architecture of the building giving a soft, natural feel in keeping with the surroundings. Two of the rooms have a third bed making them perfect for families.
Activities
The Mediterranean coast is just an hour away from Can Rigall with its pretty coastal towns and beaches or journey inland and enjoy the rich culture of the surrounding castles and fortresses. For the active there are some fabulous mountain treks made even more enjoyable by lunch in the nearby village of Ceret which inspired Picasso, Chagall and Matisse, and whose paintings are on display in the nearby Museum of Modern Art.. Alternatively during the warmer months take a dip in the natural swimming pool with breathtaking views of nearby Pic du Canigou, play the traditional games of Petanque or Boccia on the lawns.
Mountain bikes are provided free of charge, complete with a homemade picnic to keep your energy levels up (!), whilst exploring the peaks of the Arles sur Tech. Can Rigall has its own yoga platform, traditional longbows, shooting range and an exciting hunting trail through the woodlands.
Dining
Indulge yourselfin the rich local cuisine, with home-cooked Catalan dinners prepared by our hotel chefusing fresh vegetables and herbs from theorganic garden.

Cancellation policy
- On booking, 40% of total fare will be invoiced to the client, the remaining balance will be invoiced 8 weeks before departure and final payment is due 30 days prior to travel date.
- On cancellation between 90 and 30 days before the start date, 40% of total fare will be charged.
- On cancellation 29 days or later before start date, the customer will be charged 100% of the total fare.
