About this Chic Retreat

Clingendael, part of the Sri LankaInstyle collection, offers colonial splendour and spectacular golf in stunningly beautiful surroundings. Clingendael is a large stately home built in Dutch Sri Lankan style with materials dating back to 1782. This small charming hotel is known for its colonial atmosphere, exceptional location and outstanding service. With spacious and cool verandahs and sitting rooms there are plenty of places to relax, read a book or enjoy a snooze. The Clingendael can be taken over on a daily basis lending itself to gatherings of family and friends and for a group golf holiday par exellence.

Accommodation

The 4 suites and Master suite are all individually designed and decorated with antiques and a fine collection of artwork. All the suites are en-suite and have sweeping views of the lush surroundings.

Activities

Relax and enjoy a cocktail or afternoon tea by the infinity pool or play a game of Crocquet (remember no cheating!). The neighbouring Victoria Golf Course was rated by Golf Digest USA as one of the 100 most scenic golf courses in the world. Golf is right on the door step and the hotel can arrange a special rate and tee off time for you. Besides golf, explore at your leisure one of the many bird watching and jungle trails. The Victoria Stables provide, lessons in, horse riding. Day trips as well as overnight trips can be organized from Clingendael to Sri Lanka 's multitude of interesting and historically significant places. Massages can be enjoyed in the privacy of the suite.

Dining

Food lovers are in for a real treat. The philosophy here is whatever you want, wherever you want. There is also a great selection of classic Sri Lankan dishes as well as some Oriental favourites.

Rates

Rates are per room per night and include breakfast, soft drinks, coffees, teas & beers. Rates do not include taxes, which are a 10% service charge and 13% Government Taxes. Half Board -Dinner- is an additional of USD 40++ per person, not including alcoholic beverages.  * There is a Peak Rate Supplement from 20th December 2011-10th January 2012 as follows: Single Occupancy USD 35++ per room per night. Double Occupancy USD 70++ per room per night. Full Board is an additional USD 75++ for lunch and dinner and all beverages including house spirits, wines and beers, per person per day. * The exclusive use of the villa is charged as USD 1000++ for the Master Suite plus USD 35++ for each additional room occupied in addition, subject to availability.

30% deposit not refundable. If you cancel a booking within 7 days prior of the arrival you will be charged 100%. If you cancel a booking during hte Peak Period within 30 days of arrival, you will be charged 100%.
