About this Chic Retreat
Serene Pavilions is a newly-opened luxury boutique Hotel on the west coast of Sri Lanka and is Sri Lanka country winner of the World Luxury Awards for a beach resort in Sri Lanka. This child-free Chic Retreat is conveniently located just 45 minutes from Colombo and boasts spectacular views of the Indian Ocean from its majestic position in a large coconut grove. Each Pavilion offers the ultimate in luxurious features, from personal plunge pools to your own dedicated Butler to pamper and spoil you throughout your stay. Set in beautifully landscaped gardens and with direct access to the quiet beach, this idyllic location is perfect for romantic retreats, honeymoons, or just a break away from it all. With its fabulous central swimming pool and its unique submerged Jacuzzi beds, its tennis court and Gym, there are plenty of options for those who want to indulge in a bit of sport, whilst The Reading Room is the ideal place to sit back and watch the world go by at a much slower tempo. Accommodation
The 12 individual luxury Pavilions of this boutique retreat are a spacious 2500 sq ft in size offering maximum private space for both indoor and outdoor tropical living. Contemporary style blends with Balinese design resulting in the best of modern elegance. There are 8 two-storied Pavilions each with a large upper balcony directly facing the Indian Ocean. They all have direct access to the beach through the beautiful beachside gardens. With plenty of room to relax by your own plunge pool or to dine under the shade of the Balinese inspired 'bale', an Ocean Pavilion with your own 24-hour Butler is the perfect haven to instill tranquility and calm. There are 4 Garden Pavilions, 3 of which are 2-bedroom, offering the ultimate in seclusion in the Serene Pavilions lush tropical gardens, with all the luxuries of the Ocean Pavilions.
All Pavilions have a large elegant living and dining area and are equipped with a Home Entertainment system including flat screen TV and iPod docking station, and with both IDD facilities and WiFi access, the world is at your fingertips. Each Pavilion's private bar has a selection of drinks to perfectly complement the array of menus on hand for in-Pavilion dining. The gorgeous bedrooms feature sumptuous king-size four-poster beds and for added comfort, an inviting cushion-packed daybed. Dressing rooms with ample wardrobe space lead through to an impressive bathroom with its own Jacuzzi, twin vanities and separate shower and WC units.
With great attention to detail and with an eye on both style and comfort, these stylish retreats really do guarantee the best of luxury living.
Activities
Guests can relax in the privacy of their own Pavilion, or enjoy the central swimming pool with its submerged Jacuzzi beds which sits in the landscaped tropical gardens. Take a cocktail in the shaded bale or relax out on the sunbeds. The Dhaarana Reading Room overlooks the pool and has a selection of books, cards and board games. The Serenity Spa offers a variety of pampering treats; enjoy a private open-air Jacuzzi and lie back under the clear star-lit sky in complete peace. The Balinese Coconut Spa therapists will personally recommend therapies which can also be taken in the privacy of your own Pavilion.
For those who want to get more active, do a work out in the Asana Gym which has modern Cybex equipment including a treadmill and multi-trainer. Guests can play tennis on the clay court located in the gardens. Golf enthusiasts can make the hour trip to Colombo's famous 18-hole Royal Golf Course and the hotel will arrange all fees and golf-club hire. Many come to Sri Lanka for the cricket, and an international game in one of the Test Match grounds is a real treat for cricket fans.
There is much to see in and around the area, and some may want to arrange a tailor-made sight-seeing tour taking in Kandy, Ratnapura and Galle. Colombo, just 45 minutes away, is great for shopping and there are a host of interesting cultural sites to visit including the silk market at Pettah, the National Museum and the long coastal promenade, the Galle Face Green.
Dining
The Pavilions Restaurant is a superb location for a romantic meal, be it on the spacious balcony offering uninterrupted panoramic views of the rolling waves of the Indian Ocean, or in the calm and relaxed atmosphere of the refined interior of the restaurant. The Head Chef has created an inspired A La Carte menu with a fusion of international and local dishes with Sri Lankan curries, New Zealand Lamb and locally-caught lobster among the choices, all prepared with his own natural flair and presented with a quirky twist. Let temptation win over restraint and give in to the devilish delights of the dessert menu such as the champagne sabayon or the exquisite chocolate mousse. There is also a 'Lite Bites' menu for between meals, with delicious snacks such as pumpkin and pine nuts salad with feta cheese, a Shawarma sandwich or smoked salmon served with home-made brown bread. With an eclectic mix of Eastern, Asian and Western and International cuisine, there is something to suit every discerning palate. For a full and hearty breakfast choose from a delicious menu of continental and traditional Sri Lankan dishes.
Guests have the option to dine in the location of their choice, be it in the privacy of their own Pavilion, under the shade of the central pools 'bale' or even in the beachside gardens. Uniquely, our Chef can personally cook for you within the comfort of your Pavilion.
For a pre-dinner aperitif or cocktail The Amritha Bar is the perfect place to unwind and relax as the sun sets. With an extensive drinks list and wine menu, The Amritha Bar offers a unique ambience on its garden-side terrace where guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.

The rates at Serene Pavilions are per night, inclusive of Breakfast, VAT & service charge. Ocean Pavilions and 1-bedroom Garden Pavilion occupancy is a maximum of 2 adult guests sharing per Pavilion. 2-bedroom Garden Pavilion occupancy is a maximum of 4 adults.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations made between 1st Oct and 19 December will be charged 50% of the total cost when made 21 days prior to arrival and 100% of the total cost when made within 72 hours of arrival. Cancellations made in the festive season between 20 December and 10 January will be charged 100% of the total booking if made within 30 days of arrival. Cancellations made between 11 Jan and 31 July will be charged 50% of the total cost when made 30 days prior to arrival and 100% of the total cost when made within 72 hours of arrival. Cancellations made between 1 August and 19 December will be charged 50% of the total cost when made within 21 days of arrival and 100% of the total cost when made within 72 hours or arrival.
