About this Chic Retreat

St Remy de Provence is one of Lulu's favourite places in France.  Authentic, fragrant and happy it is the perfect Provencal town to visit known for its vibrant markets, romance and charm.  New to St Remy is Mas de L'Amarine, which opens in July 2011, once home to Roger Bezombes, the contemporary French artist and friend of Gaugin. This old stone farmhouse is set in the heart of the town on an ancient Roman road.  Recently restored and transformed into a gorgeous little boutique hotel Mas de L'Amarine is now the chicest place to stay. The light and airy interiors have been given a contemporary twist exuding an aura of serenity and elegance. The garden is home to a pretty pool, there is a therapy room and plenty of space to hide away and read a book.  Anything and everything is possible at this Chic Retreat, owners Alice and Bernard will make your stay in Provence unique, magical and totally unforgettable.  Expect to be surprised and enchanted.

Accommodation

The 5 stylish, contemporary rooms and suites with modern, spacious bathrooms are a highlight at Mas de L'Amarine.  They are full of light and feature some great design pieces.  Joint owner Alice, is an expert at attention to detail having worked in some of the most exquisite hotels and her eye for design and detail is evident throughout Mas de L'Amarine. 

Activities

Shaded terraces, gardens and pools are filled with the heady and very French fragrance of lavender and rosemary. Enjoy the cigada chorus and relax into the French way of life with a refreshing glass of rose. The old pool has been transformed into an old style 'bassin' filled with lotus flowers and fish whilst the new swimming pool is bigger and has a pool house. The market, shops and restaurants are all just a short walk away or cycle on one of the complimentary bikes making Mas de L'Amarine the perfect boutique bolthole.  The old dovecote has been transformed into a treatment room where guests can enjoy a treatment of their choice.  Tailor-made activities can be organised includingIberian horse riding, wine tasting - L'Amarine is a place that lives absolutely in the present, for now, where everything is possible, but nothing is imposed.

Dining

The restaurant has an a la carte menu throughout the year with dishes featuring fresh, seasonal and only local produce. Bernard selects the ingredients himself from the market and conjures up magical mouth-watering dishes using fresh herbs, local goats cheese and Sisteron lamb.  Children meals and teas are also catered for.  The restaurant opening hours are:

June to September - closed for lunch on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

October to December - closed every Monday and Tuesday

The hotel and restaurant are closed in January and February.

Rates

Rates at Mas de L'Amarine are per room per night.  Breakfast is EUR 20 per person.  Cots are free of charge. Breakfast is half price for children under 14.

Cancellation policy

To confirm your booking, a credit card number with its expiry date is required on which we will charge as a deposit:

  • one night of the price of the room if the booking is for 1 to 3 nights
  • two nights of the price of the room if the booking is for 4 to 6 nights
  • three nights of the price of the room if the booking is for more than 6 nights

Any cancellations may affect this small hotel significantly. Therefore, we have to adhere to a strict cancellation policy. To avoid any misunderstanding, we require written cancellation.

  • Cancellation more than 7 days before the planned arrival date: No charge.
  • Cancellation within 7 days of the planned arrival date or no show the day of the arrival: we will keep the deposit already charged upon reservation. 
  • No show on the planned date of arrival will lead to automatic cancellation of the rest of the stay.
