10 George Street is a luxury self-catering property situated in the heart of York, one of England's most historic and fascinating cities. This luxurious town house offers luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to 6 guests. Only 5 minutes walk from the Shambles and 10 minutes from the beautiful York Minster, Walmgate dates back to medieval times and is one of the few residential areas within the famous city walls. The notorious highwayman Dick Turpin who was tried and hanged in York in 1739 is buried just around the corner from George Street.
Walmgate is full of speciality shops, bars and bistros, yet it retains an air of quiet propriety compared to the bustling city centre. Pure decadence and attention to detail sets the mood for your luxury visit. From peacock feathers and decorative eggs to engraved brass fittings and candle lit skulls.
Accommodation
The Master bedroom is a stunning top floor suite in the style of a lavish theatrical set. From the king-size four-poster bed stashed with silk & velvet, to the free-standing roll-top bath set beneath the vaulted eaves, to the enormous renaissance artwork Crivelli's 'The Annunciation' taking pride of place on the centre wall everything is intended as a feast for the senses. With flatscreen TV/Freeview/DVD player, you may never want to get out of bed. Just watch out for the peacocks!

The sitting room at 10 George Street has the air of a gentleman's lounge with oak panelling and oak floors. The bookshelves are well stocked and with an open fireplace it is easy to fall asleep on one of the comfy leather sofas. There is a Flat-screen TV with Freeview & DVD player plus a range of DVDs CDs and traditional board games for cosy nights in.

The kitchen at 10 George Street is well-equipped with gas cooker, coffee maker, and all essential machines. A complimentary selection of teas, coffee and jams. A bottle of red and white wine are also provided. An imposing traditional Georgian dining space with oak refectory table & six chairs, and french doors leading onto a charming flower-filled courtyard for al fresco dining. The area is perfect for a family meal, summers day brunch or a late intimate meal for two. Atmosphere is added through chandelier light for the perfect evening in.

Cancellation policy
A 40% deposit by credit/debit card online is required to secure your booking with balance due one month before arrival. For bookings made within a month of arrival date, payment must be made in full. You will receive a confirmation email on booking followed by an invoice for your outstanding balance 28 days before your stay commences.
